• VINs you check, and the reports generated from them.
• If you request a cash offer: the VIN, mileage, ZIP, and the phone/email
you provide.
• If you use "Snap the VIN": the photo you upload. When on-device barcode
reading isn't available, the image is sent to our OCR provider (OpenAI) solely
to extract the VIN, and is not retained by us after the VIN is read.
• Your IP address, used only to enforce fair-use limits on free checks,
photo scans, and offer requests.
• Payments are processed entirely by Stripe — we never see or store card
numbers.
Report data is used to generate and (if you use a share link) display your report. Offer-request details are shared with our cash-offer partners so they can contact you — that is the purpose of the form, and we say so on it. We do not sell browsing data, run ads, or share your contact information for anything other than the offer you requested.
Offer-request contact details are deleted automatically after 90 days. Reports are retained so share links keep working; email support@vetmyvin.com to have a report or your details deleted sooner — we honor deletion requests within 7 days.
No tracking cookies. Your report code is kept in your own browser's local storage so you don't lose it.
